This Thursday March Madness has started for real. The first 16
first-round games will be held in Buffalo, New York.
NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship is a single elimination
tournament of college teams in United States, and is commonly known as
March Madness or sometimes as Big Dance. The tournament takes place in
Spring, usually in March. All the games of the tournament are
broadcast on CBS television network, except the "opening round" game.
Since its inception in 1939 the tournament has seen the rise and fall
of many basketball dynasty teams and long term underdogs trying their chances to
compete for the title.
Buffalo residents speak favorably of their city hosting the
opening round of the games. City restaurants and hotels have seen the
dramatic increase in business even in the current down sliding economy.
Atlanta will be the place where the final four teams will play on March 31.
