| Madonna wants you to call her by the Hebrew name she's chosen for herself as a follower of Kabbalah. But Esther? Says, errr, Esther on ABC's 20/20 tonight, "I wanted to attach myself to the energy of a different name." This is probably the most interesting reinvention Madonna's had in years.
The history of Madonna's first single:
Rosenblatt, Kamins and Madonna outlined contract clauses on the standard yellow form. Under treaty provisions Madonna received 5000 dollars advance, and will get for each written song the fee and the payment for the publication at a rate of 1000 dollars. President “Warner Sire” Seymour Stein and Rosenblatt have been assured in the potential possibilities of Madonna, but not so much to let out at once an album. Rosenblatt developed the plan of Madonna’s promotion at the expense of the dancing singles release.
The song “Ain’t No Big Deal” from the demo cassette had to be the first single, because it was liked by Stein most of all. Mark Kamins became the producer for the work on Madonna’s first plate.
Advertised by the clip, the composition “Everybody” flied up to 3rd place in the tables of dancing hits, and then moved to 107th place in the main chart of the magazine “Billboard”.
