| An amusement Park (Attraction Park, theme park) is a collective term for describing several attractions and other entertainment types located in a single place. The Amusement Park differs from other usual parks in that the park is intended for the entertainment of people, predominantly adults, teenagers and children. Sometimes, theme parks are encountered, i.e. amusement parks, attractions, serving personnel of which are stylized for a specific theme, for example, Wild West or Pirates Island.
Amusement Parks evolved from European fairs and amusement gardens, meant for relaxation. The oldest park of attractions in the world is “Dyrehavsbakken” which was opened in 1583 in the north of Copenhagen, in Denmark. The World ’s Fair, which was conducted in the USA, had a huge impact on the development of amusement parks.
The majority of amusement parks, unlike fairs and carnivals, are located at a constant place.
Often, amusement parks have separate sections devoted to specific themes.
Luna Park is the common name for several entertaining platforms collected in one place. The name was given in honor of the Goddess of the Moon the patroness of the circus. |
