| Lindsay Dee Lohan (born on July 2, 1986) is an American film actress and singer. Lohan began her career in show business with roles in TV advertisements. At the age of 10, she started to play in television serials and in 1998, at the age of 11, she played the leading role in the comedy “The Parent Trap”.
6 years later, Lindsay Lohan had established herself as a popular film actress, having played leading roles in the films “Freaky Friday”, “Mean Girls” and “Herbie: Fully Loaded”. While shooting “Herbie: Fully Loaded”, Lohan released her first solo musical album “Speak”. Her second album, “A Little More Personal (Raw)”, was released in 2005. Her career had a break in 2007 due to two road accidents and three visits to a rehabilitation centre, which cost her several roles in movies. After renewing her career, she was guest star in the series “Ugly Betty” in 2008 and acted in Robert Rodriguez's film “Machete” in 2009.
In 2007, Lindsay Lohan was voted by magazine “Maxim” as the most desired and sexy woman in the world. Lindsay is also known worldwide for her problems with alcohol and narcotics.
Lohan was a guest judge on the American TV style competition “Project Runway” in the 6th season. In December 2009, Lindsay Lohan spent a week in India working for BBC Three in a documentary film about the trafficking of women and children. Subsequently, Lindsay Lohan started shooting for Robert Rodriguez’s film “Machete” in August and in September 2009 the movie “Machete” which is slated for a 2010 release. In May 2009 it was announced that Lindsay Lohan will be cast in a leading role in the movie “The Other Side” which will be released in 2010.
Personal life:
During the American presidential election campaign in 2008, Lindsay Lohan offered her services to Barack Obama in his support during the elections including invitations aimed at younger voters but her offer was declined.
Lindsay Lohan was placed at number 10 on the list of the “100 sexiest Women” according to the reader’s opinion of FHM magazine in 2005. The magazine “Maxim” placed her at No.3 in the list of “Hot 100” in 2006 and the at No.1 position in 2007. Lindsay Lohan is the face of fashion designer Jill Stuart, Miu Miu and Dooney and Bourke and also of the British fashion company 2008 Visa Swap. She is also the face of Italian clothing company “Fornarina” for their Spring/summer 2009 campaign.
For a long-time, Lindsay Lohan was influenced by Marilyn Monroe since seeing the movie “Niagara” while shooting for the film “The Parent Trap”. In 2008, during the Spring Fashion edition of the New York magazine, Lohan recreated the last photo session of Monroe known as “The Last Sitting” including a naked photo; she said that the photo shoot was an honor for her. Critic from the New York Times Ginia Bellafante found it disgraceful, explaining “the photos ask the viewers to participate in some sort of mock necrophilia….. At the age of 21, Lindsay Lohan looks older than Monroe, who was 36 at the time of the photo session and the photos do not bear even a drop of Monroe’s finesse."
In 2008, Lohan launched a line of leggings under the name 6126 which have been created in honor of Monroe’s birthday (June 1, 1926). In April 2009, Lohan launched a series of self-tanning sprays by the name of Sevin Nyne in collaboration with Sephora. In September 2009, Lindsay Lohan became the adviser with respect to art issues for French fashion house “Emanuel Ungaro”; the collection of the designer Estrella Archs with Lohan as adviser was presented in October. The collection had a disastrous reception according to Entertainment Weekly. Lohan resigned from the company in March 2010.
Even after her rehabilitation treatment from drugs and alcoholism, Lohan, who suffers from asthma since the age of 2 is a smoker.
In March 2010, after the earthquake in Haiti, Lohan raised funds through the British Red Cross in aid of the country. Also in March 2010 Lohan started legal proceedings in which she claimed $100 million from financial company E*Trade for using her name and image without prior permission from her. Lindsay Lohan appeared in the British comedy chat show Alan Carr: Chatty Man on March 11, 2010, during which she refused to answer questions from host Alan Carr about her sexuality and also discussed her fascination for Marilyn Monroe and fashion work.
On July 6, 2010, Lindsay Lohan was sentenced by the court for a 90 day imprisonment. And also after serving the term she has to compulsorily undergo treatment for alcohol and drug addictions.

Lindsay LOLhan was sentenced to 3 months in jail followed by rehab time, after the judge found out she violated the terms of her probation in 2007 drug case. Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel issued the sentence after listening to testimony from employees of a court-mandated alcohol treatment program. Lohan tried to convince the judge she did the best she could by trying to balance work and mandatory alcohol treatment program. Revel said she found Lohan’s apology insincere, comparing it to “somebody who cheats and thinks it isn’t cheating if she doesn’t get caught.’’ Lohan was not immediately taken into custody and will be permitted to surrender on July 20. She will have to wear an ankle alcohol monitor until then.
