| | The era of mobile computing truly has arrived. In the United States, for example, sales of laptops or notebooks has outstripped those of desktops for the first time, according to Current Analysis, a research firm. Current Analysis advises that during the last calendar month, the sales of notebooks accounted for 53 percent of all of the personal computer sales, up from 46 percent during the same period one year ago. Notebook prices tumbled 17 percent in the past year while desktop prices have fallen only 4 percent during that same time period. Some of the sought after features in newer model notebooks include longer lasting batteries and wireless capabilities.
