This contest is fueled by the following news: The Chief Executive Office of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Scott Livengood, has been booted out of office. The once beloved chain of doughnut shops has seen its stock plummet and is the target of a federal securities investigation that it padded its sales figures, much like its product pads the wastes of consumers. With the announcement of Livengood's termination, stock value jumped by more than 17 percent. Sales have slid through the fourth quarter of the present fiscal year. Average sales throughout the Krispy Kreme system are down by about 18 percent.
