| The U.N. report on the Iraq oil for food program is slated for release on Tuesday. Insiders contend that the report contains materials that will only further depress Kofi Annan, the U.N. Secretary General. Many critics indicate that they will only be satisfied if he resigns from office. In the past week, it was learned that the U.N. (despite ongoing denials) was paying legal fees for Benon Sevan, the former and now disgraced head of the oil for food program, with funds from ... the oil for food program. In addition, Annan's son, Koji, received between $300 and $400,000 from Cotecna after he left its employment and before the company ended up receiving a $60 million contract from the oil for food program. Kofi Annan's supporters have tried to blame his son for not revealing his continuing relationship with the company to his father in a timely manner.
