Award winning English actor Jude Law celebrates his 35th birthday today. We know Jude by his many roles, but he really rose to fame after playing Dickie Greenleaf in "The Talented Mr. Ripley". Since then Jude Law starred in "Cold Mountain", "Closer", "The Holiday", and many other movies, including his latest role in "Sleuth" (2007) where he was both an actor and a producer.
To mark the 35th birthday of Jude Law, photoshop him any way you wish. Some examples are: showing what other professions he could have chosen; what movies he could have played in, designing a sequel to any of his movies; immortalizing Jude in paintings and statues, etc.

| | Jude Law is a British film and theater actor. He acquired huge popularity after the films “The Talented Mr. Ripley” (1999, BAFTA Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor), “Cold mountain” (2003, nomination for an “Oscar” and a “Golden Globe”) and “Closer” (2004).
Though Jude's' previous works in films were rather successful, he received huge recognition for the first time in 1999 after working in Anthony Minghella's film “The Talented Mr.Ripley”, in which his costars were also the young actors Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow. In this psychological thriller, an adaptation of the novel by Patricia High Smith, with the same name, Law portrayed the role of a rich fast liver Dickie Greenleaf, who was an object of envy and desire of Tom Ripley, played by hero Matt Damon. At the end, Ripley kills Greenleaf and assumes the identity of Greenleaf, his position and life style.
The film was a huge success. Being made with a budget of 40 million dollars, the film made over 81 million, won the recognition of the audience and the high praise of the critics, who wrote, that Law had perfectly portrayed the life of the arrogant Dickie - attractive and at the same time calling for aversion. For the role in “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, Jude was nominated for several prestigious awards (including the "Oscar" and “Golden Globe”) and at the end, received the BAFTA film award as Best Supporting Actor.
2003 appeared to be no less successful for the actor in spite of the fact that he figured in only one film, the epic drama by Anthony Minghella “Cold Mountain”, the same name as that of the novel, written by American novelist Charles Frazier. Working with Minghella already brought enough recognition to Jude and this film also brought him no less success than the previous film. Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger were his costars.
The backdrop of the film was the civil war between the Northern and Southern states of America. Hero Law, Inman, fighting from the Southern side, after being heavily wounded deserts from the battlefront and leaves for home, where he meets the heroine Nicole Kidman Ada Monroe. Ada and Inman fall in love, which ends tragically, after a night with her beloved, Inman is shot dead.

The film was made by taking all the Hollywood inputs and patterns, and was well received in all the cinema halls worldwide and made over 173 million dollars but however, could not get high ratings from critics. The critics felt that in spite of the sentimental plot between Jude Law and Nicole Kidman, the love sparks between the heroine and hero did not flare enough so as to make their love history convincing. Nevertheless “Cold Mountain” was nominated for several awards in the Best film category and Law was nominated for an “Oscar” and “Golden Globe” award as Best Actor.
It is considered, that the parents named Jude, maybe because they were impressed by the song “Hey, Jude” by The Beatles or in the honor of the character of the novel by Thomas Hardy “Jude The Obscure”.
In November 2004, the magazine “People” called Law the "Sexiest man alive”.
While shooting for the film “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, Jude Law broke his ribs after falling from a boat in the scene, in which he was supposed to be killed.
Jude Law is an avid supporter of the English Football Club Tottenham Hotspur FC.
For a long time, Jude Law was a vegetarian but after the film “Cold Mountain”, he stopped being a vegetarian.
Photographs of Jude Law appeared 109 times on the front pages of magazines.
In September 2007, Jude Law was arrested for attacking the paparazzi but soon after released on bail.
