| | Johnny Depp (full name: John Christopher Depp II, born on June 9, 1963) is an American actor. He achieved huge popularity for roles in intellectual cinema.
Depp was born in Owensboro (USA, Kentucky state). His father, John Christopher Depp Sr., worked as civil engineer and his mother, Betty Sue Palmer was a waitress. Depp has two sisters — Debbie and Christie and a brother, Daniel. Since childhood, Johnny was was very close to his mother. Death of grandfather, with whom the boy has spent all his childhood, has negatively affected the mentality of the child. It was hard for Johnny Depp to overcome the death of Grandfather and also moving to Florida. At the age of 12, Johnny started smoking and soon, he took to drugs. When he was 15 years old, his parents were divorced.
At this point of time, Depp took great interest in music. Even in Owensboro, he was interested in music, when he visited church along with uncle. In Florida, his mother presented a guitar to Depp and he learnt playing on guitar on his own. Soon, he joined group “he Kids”, which performed in Florida night clubs. At the age of 16, Depp dropped out of school with a desire to devote his life to music. In search of good fortune, group relocated to Los Angeles. Now, Depp plays for group “P”, which has organized an open concert very recently. One more hobby of Johnny is drawing and he was the author of cover of group’s album. At the age of 20, Johnny Depp married makeup artist Lori Anne Allison, who was elder than Depp by 5 years. She introduced Depp to Nicholas Cage. Cage persuaded Depp to meet his agent, who has arranged an audition for the role in the film “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, which has become Depp’s first work as an actor. However, music was his first passion and he hoped that the film would help in providing a good platform for his creativity, but, contrary to Depp's hopes, the group disintegrated. Further, Depp appeared in a number of television shows. During the shooting of film “Edward scissorhands”, Depp met Winona Ryder, with whom he subsequently got engaged to.
In 1994, Depp dated model Kate Moss. Depp's career was peaking. After separating from Kate Moss in 1998, Depp came in touch with French Singer and actress Vanessa Paradis and Depp relocates to France. The couple have two children —daughter Lily-Rose Melody (born on May 27, 1999) and son Jack (born on April 9, 2002). He owns a villa in South of France near Saint Tropez and a house in Los Angeles and a small mansion, not far away from Bath.
In 2004, Johnny Depp was nominated for Oscar for best actor for his role of Captain Jack Sparrow in blockbuster movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”. He was once again nominated for best actor in 2005 for leading role in the film “Finding Neverland”.
Johnny Depp has nominal star in the Walk of Fame in Hollywood №7020. Depp has been nominated thrice for Oscar and six times for Golden Globe. In 1999, Depp received the award "Honorary César" in France. In 2007, he was awarded by Golden Globe for leading role in tremendous film "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”, but, unfortunately, presentation of awards was disrupted due to strike of script writers in Hollywood. On June 2, 2008, during the MTV Movie Awards ceremony, audience contemplated walking twice of Johnny Depp onto the dais – Johnny Depp received two awards at once in the categories “Best Villain" for his role in the film “Sweeney Todd” and " Best Comedy" for role of Jack Sparrow in the film "Pirates of the Caribbean – 3: At World’s End ".
Interesting facts:
While dating actress Winona Ryder, he made a tattoo — Winona Forever. After separation from her, he altered it to Wino Forever (on slang Wino — alcoholic).
Tattoo on Johnny’s hand in the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” was drawn but after the film, Depp got a real tattoo made, with the difference, that the bird on this tattoo flies in other direction, and name "Jack" symbolises his son, instead of Jack Sparrow.
Depp's family tree has Germans, Irish and also Cherokee Indians.
