Jennifer Aniston was born in the small town Sherman Oaks (California, USA) in a family of Greek actor John Aniston (born Yannis Anastassakis) and Nancy Dow, an actress of Scottish and Italian descent. Jennifer Aniston has two brothers – John Melick (older) and Alex Aniston (younger). Telly Savallas, a Greek-American actor and best friend of Jennifer’s father was her godfather.
For about a year, Aniston lived in Greece. Her family relocated to New York, where her father got a role in the soap opera “Love of Life”. When Jennifer Aniston was 9 years old, her parents divorced. She remained with her mother but often went to her father in Los Angeles, where John Aniston played one of the leading roles in the serial “Days of our Lives”. At the age of 11, Jennifer started playing in the theatrical circle at Rudolf Steiner School. She received her vocational training at New York’s School of Arts in 1987.
