| | Actress Jane Fonda says that she regrets her visit in 1972 to North Vietnam. She expressed her regret during an interview on the CBS newsmagazine, 60 Minutes. Her visit in the 1970s gained her the perjorative nickname of Hanoi Jane. She called the visit to North Vietnam the largest lapse of judgment in her life, the largest lapse of judgment that she could even imagine. She did add, however, that she did not regret visiting Hanoi itself or being photographed with the American prisoners of war who were there at the time.
