Early life:
Black was born in California in family of two engineers: Judith & Thomas William Black. Mother of Black is a Jew. His father embraced Judaism. Therefore, the son was brought up as Jew. On “The Tonight Show”, he told that most probably his surname derives from Scottish Blacksmith. His parents divorced when Jack was 10 yrs old. Black had a dog – mix of Bull mastiff & Rottweiler with nickname “Chico”. Chico died from parvovirus soon after the divorce of parents. Jack moved together with his father to Culver City & regularly visited mother till the end of first year of UCLA College when his father moved to France.
Music career:
Jack Black plays on acoustic & electro-guitar. He is a member of satirical rock group from Los Angeles “Tenacious D”.
Personal life:
Jack Black married Tanya Haden. He is father of two children.
