You need to adjust the shadow from the added hat. Delete the shadow effect and create a duplicate layer of the hat. Turn the duplicate layer off and return to the original hat layer. Mask out the left and right sides of the hat so that the remaining part of the hat is only covering the actual head of the horse and not the background pavillion. Apply your shadow effect to this layer so that it can be seen on the horse. Then turn on the duplicate hat layer. If you do it in this manner, the shadow effect of the hat will only be seen on the horse's face and not on the background pavillion image as you currently have in your image. The added clothing is fine though. Maybe just a little darker down the front of the left leg.
