| The first Homeland Security Secretary in the United States, Tom Ridge, announced that he is resigning. He has been a member of the Bush Cabinet for three years. He is the seventh Bush Cabinet officer to leave. Ridge did oversee the most significant realignment of government in the past fifty years. He will be remembered for his terror alerts and perhaps even for his so-called disaster kits that caused a wild run on plastic sheeting and duct tape last year. |
