Contest Directions: 
March 8 at 2am the USA and Canada sprung forward by an hour and stepped into Daylight Saving Time. The EU and Russia will begin Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 29. Although it's not exactly time travel, adjusting the clocks by an hour forward does have a direct effect on people - they lose an hour of sleep and feel grouchy all day.
Photoshop time travel of Hollywood actors by putting the actors from the older movies into more recent movies, OR putting the actors from the recent movies into old movies. TV shows are acceptable too. Some examples are: making Steve McQueen act in "Harry Potter", or making Brad Pitt act in "Some Like it Hot", etc. Either movie stills or movie posters are acceptable.

| | Hollywood is a district in Los Angeles, California, located to the northwest of the city center. Traditionally, Hollywood is associated with the American film industry since many film studios are located in the district and many popular film actors reside there.
The world wide popular “Hollywood Walk of Fame”, the sidewalk along Hollywood boulevard and Vine Street is situated in Hollywood. More than 2500 five-point stars with the names of film actors are placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

According to the 2000 census, 167 664 inhabitants are living in Hollywood. The racial composition of the city population: 42.82% white, 4.48% Afro-Americans, 0.68% Indians, 8.98% Asians, 0.12% - representatives of the native population of islands in the Pacific Ocean, 22.23% , representatives of other races. 39.43% of the population defined their origin as Spanish (Latin America).

The National Academy of Sciences in the USA declared the creation of a unique project. Possibly for the first time in the history of world cinema, a special group of scientists was formed, which will advise script writers and directors of Hollywood films on a constant basis. The main task of the group of scientists is to lend scientific credibility to new films.
Cinema, USA – this term is used for designating the film industry of USA, the worlds largest and concentrated, mainly, in the neighborhoods of Hollywood (near Los Angeles, State of California) in which the offices and shooting pavilions of the largest movie companies in the USA are located. The concept “American Cinema” and “Hollywood” is quite frequently linked but it is incorrect. American cinema is not the only a big film industry in Hollywood but it also developed a system of independent cinema. The independent cinema is not supported by the big movie companies. On one hand, it means smaller budgets and on the other – less pressure on directors. First and foremost, the big movie companies organize the making of films as a commercial activity, therefore differences between the commercial interests of the film producers and the interests of a director sometimes make a film dismal. The most widespread prerequisite: cutting of certain scenes so that the film does not get an “Adult” rating. Sometimes, a full (director's) version is released on DVD through separate circulation. The independent cinema in the USA is diverse: like the cult hit “Easy rider” and Andy Warhol's creative experiments versus the trash for a narrow segment of the audience. |
