She is the architect of what has become a controversial merger of Hewlett-Packard with Compaq Computer. Robert Wayman, the chief financial officer, has been named as interim CEO. Fiorina has been considered one of the most powerful women in business in the U.S.A. She drew both praise and criticism during her five years plus at the top of Hewlett-Packard. The company experienced erratic financial results under her leadership.
