Might be a tad dark. If you added a light source somewhere to the chop that could illuminate the character a lil more, you could still make it look like it's in a dark setting and make the character more visible.

I agree with mac, one way you could lighten it up, is to take the original picture, BEFORE darkening it, duplicate the image into a second layer, and darken THAT layer, then with a layer mask, paint the areas you want highlighted, which will expose the lighter layer of the original underneath, you can also adjust the opacity of the layer mask, to give it depth this way. Nice picture though, and I like that is is a nice large size too.

I agree with the above - needs to be brighter and perhaps with higher contrast levels

i had already gotten rid of all my source images and such... so i didn't know how to fix it =
