| Dick Cheney, the U.S. Vice President, says that he and George W. Bush are champions of the Second Amendment right to bear arms. He also described John Kerry as being a threat to people who want to own guns. He made remarks in a speech before the 133rd annual convention of the National Rifle Association on Saturday. Cheney stated that Kerry's approach to the Second Amendment is to regulate, regulate and regulate even some more. Kerry issued a statement following Cheney's speech. Kerry's statement noted that most voters do not realize that the position taken by Cheney and Bush are standings against what most major police organizations want. He also noted that Cheney and Bush have broken their promises to renew the assault weapons ban. |
