The company's shares slumped by more than sixteen percent during after hours trading, removing more than $20 billion from Google's value. The company made headlines internationally this past month for its policies on how it handles data and the government's request for users' activity on the Google website. Google was applauded for rejecting a Justice Department subpoena for information on Google searches. Yahoo, Microsoft and America Online, on the other hand, complied with the subpoenas.
