| | Is Hampton Court Palace haunted by the ghost of King Henry VIII? Some folks think so. A hazy image in fancy garments allegedly has been seen in the mammoth Tudor style castle on the outskirts of London. Security video cameras in the castle appear to have captured images of what does appear to be a ... ghost.
Ghost Explanations:
* Message from the dying persons. There exists a hypothesis, that in extreme situations the man emits telepathic signals. This signal is perceived as a visual pattern by the witness. This hypothesis, as the previous one, does not explain how the ghosts get printed in photos.
* Aliens from space or from some parallel world, energetic substances” etc. It is considered, that the things that seem to be real, are not supernatural, whose nature can’t be explained by science, are either the images of real people, animals, objects from a parallel reality, in the past or in the future.
* In orthodox tradition, ghosts are sometimes identified with demons.
* it (in the terminology of Groddek and Freud respectively) is the fraction of mentality, acquiring the self-consciousness, pulling-out beyond the limits of form and punishing its carrier for something. Ghost - it quite often takes the form of animal (particularly tiger, as in the case of Mrs. Forbs described several times), sometimes causes scratches, injuries and stigma on the body of the victim; can drive the victim either to murder (the person, guilty in the initial mental trauma), or towards suicide.
* Element of heredity (Family Gestalt). The ghost, generated by ancestral or family self-suggestion: psychological formation, built by many generations, separates from the basic body and, while finding a life, settles in a detached house or a castle. Older the clan, more solid is the ghost. The latter always wants the attention: otherwise, withers and disappears.
* Historical “film”. It is a sort of collective memoir, part of that was called as Planetary Reasoning in the middle ages. Historical apparitions appear at the places of battles (and sometimes of different deeds) and remind three-dimensional sounded film. Characters of such performances act automatically though it is very strange that they react to the material world.
* Schizophrenic psycho-projection. It can prove to be a type of poltergeist. The masochistic type of psycho-projection develops in the attacks of asthma, aerophagia (swelling of the body), appearance of stigma signs on skin. A particular example of a psycho-projection is the intermediate-spirit (spirit-guide), helping the medium-spirits to communicate with the other world.
* Astral double. The most known case of such type is about the sufferings of Mied: gnostic scientist was constantly in the state of bitter struggle at astral level with the doubles of live foes.
* The element deja vu" – as per some reports, the state of deja vu", experienced by the man, can be accompanied by appearance of his ghost at the places, which he ostensibly remembers.
Reports about ghosts:
* Professor Augustus Heir in the book “History of my life” has written about a case of an Irish lady Mrs. Butler, who often dreamt about a house, with which she comes across later in Hampshire. Having reached the front gate, she recognized the minutest of details about it - except for an extra door. It was later found that it had been built in the wall only half a year back - just after the woman had stopped dreaming it. The house was on sale at a low price, and later the agent confessed, that the reason for discount was the presence of a ghost in it. Soon the eyewitnesses recognized the same “ghost” in Mrs. Butler.
Ghosts in different beliefs and religions of the world
In most of the beliefs, people see the spirits of people (often dead ones) and supernatural entities in the form of ghosts. Appearance of a ghost generally foretells some misfortune.
In Christianity there is a belief in the phenomenon of spirits of the magicians who have died at will (1 Chapter 28:1-25). Ancient Greeks believed that the souls of dead go to the underground kingdom of Hades. In this dark kingdom, the ghosts scurry around, and their groaning is heard everywhere. They were observed by the mythical heroes, who went down there: Orpheus, Odysseus. Besides, there is a legend about the philosopher Athenodoros, who was sold a house, in the court yard of which, a chained corpse had been buried. The silent ghost rattled these chains, so that the corpse was reburied.
