General Motors Advanced Photoshop Pictures Contest - 8 image entries
 Contest Directions:
This Monday about 73,000 United Auto Workers (UAW) interrupted their work at General Motors factories and went on strike, after negotiations between the UAW and GM failed. The tension between the union and the biggest US automaker started after GM suggested that it will cut the health benefits for retired GM workers, in order to use the funds to help the company financially. If the strike lasts longer than a week or two, General Motors may lose over $80 billion and lose momentum with its new vehicles - the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook - due to depletion of their car inventory, and the drop of supply. This could further shake the company's prospects and bring it on the edge of bankruptcy.
In the light of the GM workers strike, photoshop a marketing campaign for General Motors promoting employment with the company or advertising any of its vehicles. Your marketing campaign can be in any form - advertisement poster, billboard, magazine or even part of any classified ad section in a newspaper, etc.

| This contest is fueled by the following news: |
| | On Monday evening more than 37000 employees of the 80 manufacturing plants of American auto-giant of General Motors have gone on strike. Organized by the American trade union of automobile workers (UAW) disagreement with the conditions and amount of pension payments and health insurance offered by GM is the reason behind the strike
Besides this trade union’s representative announced that workers did not agree with lay-off carried out in connection with restructuring of the company, and also aim of the strike is to retain jobs.
Recalling that UAW earlier already warned company’s management about the possible strike and announced that course of action will continue until a special agreement with GM with new conditions and increased pension payments is not concluded. According preliminary agreement between trade union and GM, health expenses for the pensioners will be dealt by an ad hoc trust fund and the pension to all employees will be paid only once. It is supposed that the total amount of that payment will be about 30 billion dollars.
Beside this many experts consider that enduring strike may have negative impact on GM, because of the quantity of the manufactured cars is significantly reduced and dealers do not have enough stock in warehouses. And also representatives of freight companies transporting
finished cars from plants to dealers, declared that they will not take across picket lines of striking workers, that means cars will not be delivered to dealers automobile showrooms.
