| The Zodiac handheld video game machine has been discontinued from the market by its marker, Tapwave, Inc. The device initially was introduced to the market in an attempt to beat out Sony's PlayStation Portable. However, it failed to capture much interest from consumers. In an announced that Tapwave posted at its Internet website, the company indicated that it was discontinuing service and support for its Zodiac line of products as of July 25th. A spokesperson for Tapwave did not return calls seeking addition comments. The Zodiac player was launched in 2003 and was based upon the Palm operating system. It attempted to combine the functionality of a PDA with those of a gaming machine. |
