The Otohime -- or Sound Princess -- reproduces the sound of a flushing n order to help mask over some of the more unpleasant sounds that can occur with bathroom use. Prior to the Otohime, approximately 90% of all women in Japan admitted to flushing twice when the used public facilities to mask their own bowel related noises.
