This contest is fueled by the following news: The editor of USA Today announced his resignation on Tuesday. The resignation came in the wake of an investigation that determined that a former star reporter had fabricated parts of major stories on international topics. USA Today is the largest newspaper in the United States. The editor, Karen Jurgensen, left the paper a month after a series of stories written by Jack Kelley were published. Jurgensen had been the editor since 1999.
