Contest Directions: 
Russia is celebrating its national holiday today - Russia Day. The holiday celebrates the date of Russia's independence and the formation of Russia (Russian Federation) as a separate state, following the dissolution of the USSR. While Russia and the USSR have often been used as synonyms in the west, Russia has been only one of the 15 republics of the USSR (Soviet Union). Following the dissolution of the USSR, all of its 15 republics (Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Kazakhstan, etc...) became separate, sovereign states.
To celebrate the "Russian Friday",
show what life would be like if Russia ruled the world, turn anything into Russian. Some examples are - show how different countries, products, would look if they operated under Russian flag colors. Finally think of anything Russia is famous for - Putin, Medvedev, vodka, the Kremlin, cathedrals, matryoshka dolls, Moscow, national flag, pelmeni, etc. - and add it to any movies or paintings, making them "Russian". These are just some ideas.
