Former senator Fred Thompson has finally announced that he is running for President of United States on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." In his first campaign speech on Thursday in Iowa, Thompson said he possesses the conservative values that will lead Republicans to Senate majority they recently lost, and will prevent Senator Hillary Clinton from winning the U.S. presidential election in 2008.

After three months wait for this step, sympathy of republicans shifted from him to Former Mayor of New York Rudolph Giuliani. Right from summer, everybody anticipated an official announcement about his intention to participate in Presidential elections from Former Senator of State Tennessee Mr. Fred Thompson. However, election campaign was postponed from June to July and then to the beginning of September. On Thursday, Head of electoral campaign of Thompson, Mr. Bill Lacy stated that the Ex. Last week, Thompson addressed a gathering in Indianapolis, where he criticized the current policies of USA. The Washington Post writes with citing made by aides of Thompson that the former senator is intending to use vast experience of campaigns in Senate.
