The biotech industry has turned its attention to creating genetically modified beer. A group of the world's largest biotech companies, being led by Monsanto, are helping fund a Swedish brewer's new light lager that is being produced from traditional hops and barley as well as some genetically engineered corn. Europeans are insisting that food be clearly labeled in this regard. U.S. consumers, on the other hand, do not seem to care.
