| | A fishing boat overturned on Friday off western coast of Kamchatka.
9 fishermen in the boat went missing. This incident occurred at 6.25 pm (local time) in Sobolev region near Kirovsky village.
“Nine fishermen were pulling out seine net when the fishing boat overturned and capsized” according to the Department Information of Russian Ministry of Disaster management. Fate of fishermen is not yet known.
Boarder patrol ship “Antias” is in the area of accident. Due to soak the ship cannot approach capsized the fishing boat (depth in this area is about 5-6m). Wind speed in accident area now is 18 meters per second and wave height- up to 3 meters this make rescue teams work difficult. Due to severe weather conditions chopper also can not participate yet in rescue operations
Regional Central administration and prosecutor’s office have been informed about the mishap. The fishing boat was located near by seine net of a company, fishing salmon half a mile off the coast. Captain of the trawler also located in the disaster area informed the district officials.
Amateur fishing, performed by one or several fishers, is usually called fishing. There is a kind which has left fishing of sports “Fishing sport” is a type of sport, which emerged from fishing.
