Fast Food Menu
Contest Directions:  Burger King announced that it will make their fast food menu healthier, at least for kids under 12. The total amount of calories of the food items in the menu should not exceed 560 calories, with no more than 30 percent of the calories from fat and no more than 10 percent of the calories from added sugars. The planned kids menu items will include low fat chicken and apples cut to resemble French fries. Burger King is the second largest fast food chain after McDonald's which pledged to cut the amount of saturated fat and sugar in its menus earlier this year and to offer healthier food to its customers.
Take any fast food chain (Burger King, McDonald's, etc.) and show what new food items on their menus may attract or chase away customers. You can show both healthy fast food (carrots, etc.) or some strange items on a menu which may even be inedible (rocks, etc.) In the next 48 hours you are to assume the position of a manager in your favorite fast food chain, and decide what new menu items should be there - to benefit the customers, amaze them, or simply scare them. Make sure to brand your food entry so we know which fast food chain it belongs to. Tags: fast food menu

This contest is fueled by the following news:
It is noteworthy that only 9% Americans do pay attention to all kinds of recommendations and contents printed on packaged food products. Majority of Americans do not believe Senator Republican Mitch McConnell, who drafted a bill, in which fast food restaurants are main source of health and obesity problems for American population. According to the survey, conducted by company Gallup, mere 6% of Americans are confident that fast food industry is fully responsible for all the health related problems & 27% Americans consider that that the certain responsibility exists. Interestingly, 66% of the surveyed populace did not see any link between the health-related problems and obesity with having food in a fast food restaurant. Only 9% Americans considered that the legal system should make the fast food restaurants responsible for excessive weight of Americans. 23% of Americans think that eating in a fast food outlet is extremely health-giving for their health and same number of Americans thinks quite opposite while the rest were not in a position to comment. 4% of US citizens eat in fast food outlets daily and 48% of Americans make a point to visit fast food chains several times a week and only a mere 5% Americans never visited the fast food restaurants. And the truth is much more interesting statistics Americans are ready to support the fast food. It is not correct to hold the fast food responsible for all the forgivable and unforgivable reasons. After all, a type of fast food existed even in ancient Rome. And health-wise, fast food did not prevent the Romans to conquer the world, known at that time. Discipline of Romans was strict and work load was more than in modern people. Many people argue that large belly and number of fatty folds is not due to the fast food but life style and attitude towards eating habits and personal health. Apart from this, we conducted a special research and found out that, people eating in fast food outlets do not care about the slenderness and health / bad food. The main issue in front of them is to assuage the hunger.
