 In this case, beauty really does meet the beast. The season's weirdest fashion accessory -- believe it or not -- is a life and bejeweled ... cockroach. The bug is worn as jewelry. And, consider this: what better place for this item to be put on the market but in New York? Pete Donelon, of Princeton, stated that this latest trend proves his point that society if imploding. His meal was interrupted by the sight of the bejeweled cockroach -- that even has a name: Kafka. The bug was scurrying up its wearer's arm. The giant Madagascar hissing cockroach is about three inches long and actually does hiss. To make a fashion point, the bug is partially covered in brightly colored Swarovski crystals, which are glued to its hard outer shell. It also sports a small clasp that attaches to a silver chain, the other end of which is a cameo pin. In fact, history tells us that there was a bizarre Victorian-era trend of wearing live insects as jewelry. Once properly attached, the insect is free to roam around its owner's shoulder.
