This contest is fueled by the following news:
The magnificent North American buffalo roamed freely across the prairies of Canada for thousands of years. Most of these big, brown animals now spend their lives on ranches ... or in the case of one buffalo names Bailey ... watching television and eating. He lives with his owners in Alberta and eats at the family table. Linda and Jim Sautner own the animal, a four year old buffalo, who likes to spend his time inside the family home. They live about twenty kilometers west of Edmonton. Jim has said that one day his wide would not let him bring his German Shepard puppy into the house. So, he brought Bailey the buffalo inside instead. Jim said that Baily did mess the carpet. Now they bring Bailey an ice cream pail whenever it looks as though wants to do it again. The buffalo oftentimes eats dinner with the family. The buffalo apparently is a finiky eater prefering good food. He does like mashed potatoes after which he enjoys icecream. The buffalo even joined the family and a bunch of guests for Christmas dinner. The Sautners actually own 270 head of buffalo and are now used to the buffalo watching television with them and eating in their kitchen. Bailey was rescued as a baby when he was abandoned by his mother. The family, along with farmhands, bottle fed the animal. Bailey has been neutered and has accompanied Jim Sautner to a number of events ... including going with Jim to the lobbies of three star hotels as well as going up into the grandstand at the Calgary Stampede rodeo.
