| | At the present time it is not clear if there is a relationship between the E-coli outbreak in New Jersey and in Long Island where people have taken ill after dining at Taco Bell. A total of at least 15 people in New Jersey have become sick -- two very ill. Four restaurants were closed. Taco Bell has agreed to decontaminate the properties. The closures were said to be made out of an abundance of caution. An 11 year old boy has been hospitalized for a week as a result of illness from E-coli. Greg Creed, the president of Taco Bell, stated that his company is working with health officials to determine the cause of the outbreak. He did state that restaurants have been closed as a precaution. He noted that the company is sanitizing all effected restaurants and is replacing food products and ingredients before the stores will be permitted to reopen. |
