| The fight between Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell got another spin to a
much delight of internet gossip bloggers. Now there's a broadcast icon
Barbara Walters, who is caught in the middle and whom Donald Trump
called a liar.
Trump sent an open letter to O'Donnell which was shown on the
TV show "The insider". In the letter Donald gives several details of
the private conversations between him and Barbara Walters. According
to Donald Trump,
Walters told him that working with O'Donnell is like living in
hell.
Apparently, Walters called Trump on his vacation and tried to
apologize for O'Donnell's words. Walters told Trump not to worry about
Rosie as "she won't be here for long", and that Donald should not
"wrestle with pigs".
When Trump ran into Barbara Walters at Le Cirque in November and asked
about Rosie
O'Donnell, Walters replied "Donald, do you want to ruin my meal?"
A week ago on her daytime show, Walters denied allegations by Trump
that she did not want O'Donnell on the show, and said that nothing can
be further from the truth.
In his letter to O'Donnell, Trump said "Walters lied to both of us."
New York Post newspaper stated that O'Donnell was angry with Walters
and talked to her backstage at "The View" on Monday. O'Donnell accused
Walters and called her a liar, and was angry that Walters did not call
Trump a liar.
Despite the scandal, the ratings for O'Donnell's "The View" increased due to the
show being constantly in the news media covering the scandal. Trump
got no increase in ratings with his "The Apprentice" show this
season, - in fact the ratings fell well below the expectations.
Just to remind how the whole O'Donnell - Trump saga started. O'Donnell
accused Trump of being unjust and said he has no right to be a moral
compass for the 20-year-olds when he gave Miss USA the second chance.
Trump owns the Miss USA beauty pageant.
Another person caught in the middle of the O'Donnell - Trump fight is
Cindi Berger, the spokesman for Walters and O'Donnell. She said she
had no comments on the fight, but suggested that viewers tune in to
the show "The View" on Wednesday, and added that it will be a great show. |
