| Diving helmet is an item of diving outfit for scuba diving, which allows swimmers to see under water.
The diving mask is designed in such a way that the swimmer can inflate the mask through exhalation through the nose. It is necessary to prevent the "squeeze" of the face, when the pressure of the external environment increases (during descent).
The diving mask consists of:
* Obturator - a soft body made of rubber or silicone, which ensures the air tightness of the mask;
* Body - a rigid ferrule, in which one or several viewing ports can be fitted;
* Native viewing ports with glasses or with lenses for vision adjustment;
* Fastening belts with clips.
The body of the diving mask can be black or transparent. It is necessary to consider that the body from transparent silicone increases the field of vision but can create light spots on the viewing glass.
Nowadays diving helmets are often substituted with diving masks, even when it comes to deep diving. Two types of diving masks are available: modern and classical. The advantage of the masks of the classic design is the big oval viewing port, providing large review angles. Lacks are a continuation of the advantages:
* Sufficiently large volume of below mask space;
* Difficult in pressing the nose with one hand during expansion and have to press the nose with the index fingers of both the hands as the large viewing port and regulator in the mouth obstruct in reaching up to the nose;
Full-face diving helmets and masks are also available, which ensure voice communication between the scuba divers.
