| It truly appears that the beloved Krispy Kreme doughnut could become the latest victim of the low carb diet craze. The doughnut maker, based in Winston-Salem, said Friday that is was going to be cutting its profit estimates by upwards to ten percent this year. The company blamed the decrease in a lower demand for high calorie treats thanks in part to the low carb diet regimens many people are utilizing today. The CEO of Krispy Kreme said that presently it was impossible to determine whether the low carb diet craze was a passing fad or something that would be around for the long term. |
