Great facial expressions. edit: Name fixed. Note: the cheek bruise really stands out much more in full view. Not sure if I prefer it better in full view or the more subtle contest view.

Not a bad image, however lacing it with profanity isn't necessary and to me ruins the impact of the message.

Look guys, the "vulgar slang," the dominatrix thing, is all part of the humor. I would just as soon have put up just the Bush-slap pick (as I thimk it speaks for itself), but oh no, it was someone else's bright (and gratuitous) idea to insist on the magazine format for this contest . . . hence all the naughty words (and "Bitch Slap" seems like a very plausible name for a dominatrix mag to me).

ray, all I was saying that on a family-oriented site, which we are trying to be, the words you picked were over the top. Yes, it is humor, but it is more adult than if a schoolkid loaded FN and saw the word prominently displayed in the image. I have edited images myself (and been edited by the jury members) in order to accomodate what is acceptable for even kids to look at. That's all that was being said. It is possible to have 2 versions of an image.

Reggie, I don't believe I'm trying to corrupt the morals of the youth any more than Socrates was. I think we'd both agree there should be some kind of standards. Where to draw the line though. I suspect the average middle school kid these days is well versed in the use of the word bitch and much worse. If you want to make the site squeaky-clean "safe" for all kids, even the smallest, then things will get boring real quick. Not just "bad" words but any kind of image relating to anything remotely violent or sexual or otherwise distasteful will have to go. So maybe the site needs a PG13 warning.
