Christopher was the youngest of seven children in Lloyd’s family. He received his elementary education at the prestigious Fessenden School in Newton and in 1958 he graduated from Staples High School, Connecticut.
For the first time, he tried his hand in acting at the age of 14 at summer camp. And later, on completion of college, he got training in acting skills in New York with Sanford Meisner, the popular American actor and teacher, who became famous for creating his own acting techniques. Christopher Lloyd participated in more than 200 productions, performed on Broadway and was an actor of the Yelsky theatre where he performed on stage together with Meryl Streep.
In big cinema, Christopher Lloyd debuted only in 1975, playing the role of one of the patients of a mental hospital in Milos Forman's triumphant film “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”. After the success of the picture, in 1976 Lloyd moved to Los Angeles to completely dedicate himself to cinema. His work was recognized very quickly after the roles of Reverend Jim Ignatowski, an ex-hippie in the sitcom “Taxi”, the premiere of which took place in 1978 (the serial was shown on TV in the USA from 1978 to 1983, and had 93 episodes). For work in this show, Christopher Lloyd received Emmy Awards twice in 1982 and 1983 as Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

In 1992, Christopher Lloyd received his third Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Dramatic Series for his role in the serial “Road to Avonlea” (1989-1996).
