Reports are that chocolate actually can make you really sizzle. This contention has been made by Dr. Dora Akunyili who is the director the Federal Agency for Food and Medicine in the country of Nigeria. In fact, Dr. Akunyili is encouraging her countrymen to forgo some medicines in favor of an appropriate dose of cocoa. The report she cites was developed by the country's national committee for the development of cocoa and, as such, may be a bit slanted and a bit scant on using normal scientific testing and research techniques. However, a British cocoa trade association is making similar claims at this point in time. A campaign including chocolate bars extolling the virtues of cocoa is soon to launch, entitled "Feeding Your Imagination." The five candy bars are aptly named Beautiful, Dreamy, Sensual, Lovely and Fantastic. According to Dr. Akunyili, chocolate is the best anti-oxidant known to man. She noted that men who eat chocolate live longer. Some people are even stretching the claims made by Dr. Akunyili to the extreme, claiming that chocolate can cure breast cancer and enhance the power of the brain.
