| | Medical researchers now report that chocolate may be good for you. Mary Engler, a professor of physiological nursing at the University of California at San Francisco, School of Nursing, made this announcement. She noted that not every type of chocolate qualifies and that it must be consumed in moderation. Her study does show that the right type of chocolate, in the right amount, will make arteries expand, increasing blood flow -- reducing cardiovascular risks in some instances. In order to obtain these benefits, milk chocolate does not fit the bill. Rather, a person needs to be on the lookout for dark chocolate. Darkness in chocolate is an indicators of higher levels of flavonoids, which causes the desired effects mentioned a moment ago. Engler noted that this is one instance when good taste and good health goes hand in hand.
