So what's the story. Well, the dwarf-troll guy has snagged his beard under the manhole cover, can't lift it, and doesn't want to cut the beard. The pixie next to him is offering 'pixie' suggestions, and so are generally of no practical value. The hedgehog creature is bragging to a polite fairy about his weather forecasting successes. The fairy stepping up onto the curb is on a journey. Not needing food and obviously clothing, he had nothing to tie into a bundle on his stick - so he tied a balloon, which helps to lift it. The pixie is looking at its reflection in the balloon. The three pixies way back on the dark side of the street are conspiring. And the fairy standing in the window light is admiring the candies and ice cream. So there you have it: What children see, and what we wish we still could.
