| Despite the fact that the United States is a country in which nearly every school has Internet access and in which computer usage oftentimes starts as early as nursery school, some professionals are seeking a warning flashing. For many children students, states simply have not developed standards or requirements for courses in computer science. The field itself goes beyond basic computer literacy and encompasses hardware and software design, real world applications as well as the effect computers have had on society in general. In the end, the lack of sufficient coursework during the early years of school results in fewer students studying computer science in college. Professionals in the field maintain that teachers and children must embrace the idea of computer training on a more sophisticated and substantial level early on in a student's career. |
