After a year of slow car sales, American and international automakers are looking into cost-cutting technologies and materials to produce cheaper cars and increase the car sales in the difficult economic times.
Make cars out of any objects or materials (e.g. household items, vegetables, etc.). Partial or complete car remakes are both acceptable.
Many thanks to Nerb for the contest concept.

PaulHisson Developed with a new technology from outer space, our flying egg saucers are the future of transportation! Note that you must choose your engine (the flying egg) carefully: it doesn't work with turtle nor crocodile eggs for instance. Since the Roswell incident in 1947, you are informed that nearly mature eggs may be harmful to your health too. Use our freaking flying vehicles at your own risk...

This contest is fueled by the following news: Price, appearance and passenger compartment arrangement of hybrid cars:
From the outside, the hybrid car does not differ from its "petrol" fellow cars. Various types are manufactured, starting from regular city cars and ending with off-road jeeps and sports models. And distinctive fittings only add special pride for the owner. In this case, the price remains practically same. Some owners have already christened the display with the term "tamagotchis for big boys", which indicates the working of the system and the direction of the energy flow. Nevertheless, manufacturers do not recommend the use of off-road jeeps in difficult geo-climatic conditions.
Toyota is leading in respect to the quantity of hybrids and have been actively releasing these cars since 1997 and in variants as regular cars of the series Prius, off-road jeeps of the series Lexus RX 400h, and also luxury class cars - Lexus LS 600h.
According to the sales report of 2006, more than half a million cars of the model Prius were sold all over the world. The technology of the hybrid drive Toyota HSD was licensed by Ford (Escape Hybrid) and Nissan (Altima Hybrid). The mMass production of hybrid cars is delayed due to the deficit of nickel-metal-hydride storage batteries.
In 2006, 90410 hybrid cars were sold in Japan, which is 47.6% more than the sales in 2005.
In 2006, the sales of hybrid cars in the USA grew by 22% in comparison to 2005. In the USA, hybrid cars occupy 1.5% of the new light vehicle market. In the USA, the sales touched 251,000 hybrid cars in 2006 (without taking the sales of the Saturn VUE Green Line by GM into account).
In 2007 the sales of hybrid cars in the USA has grown by 38% in comparison with the sales in 2006. In the USA hybrid cars occupy a 2.15 % share in the new light vehicle market. In total, approximately 350,000 hybrid cars (without taking the sales of GM Corporation into account) were sold for the year 2007.
From 1999 till 2007, around 1 002 000 hybrid cars were sold in the USA.
