| | Charlize Theron (born August 7, 1975) is a South African actress,
a winner of Best Actress "Oscar" award in 2004.
Biography:
Charlize Theron was born on August 7, 1975 in Benoni, Gauteng, South
Africa. Her father, Charles Theron (Charlize got her name in the honor
of her father) was a construction company owner and mother,Gerda was a
commanding lady and dominated in the family. When Charlize Theron was
15 yrs old, due to some family quarrel, Gerda shot her husband (This
fact was not revealed by the actress and in all the interviews, she
stated that her father died in a road accident; Verdict went in favor
of Gerda and acquitted her stating that in self-defense, she committed
the crime). At the age of 16, Theron travelled to Milan, Italy on a
one-year modeling contract after winning a local competition. Her
contract ended while she was in New York City and she decided to
remain there attending the Joffrey Ballet School, where she trained as
a ballet dancer. A knee injury closed this ballet dancer career path
when she was 18. Theron leaves for Los-Angeles to conquer Hollywood.
She was cast in her first film part, a non-speaking role in the
direct-to-video film " Children of the Corn III".
She followed this with several small roles but her career skyrocketed
after the success of film "The Devil's Advocate" (1997) with Al
Pachino and Keenu Reeves. After the success of "The Devil's Advocate"
she got many offers to act in films. In 1998, Charlize Theron played
main role in "Mighty Joe Yound" and in 1999, she played in a fiction
film " The Astronaut's Wife" with Johnny Depp and " The Cider House
Rules" - film based on the novel, written by John Irving.
In 2004, Charlize Theron won the Best Actress Oscar award for the role
of serial killer Aileen Wuomos in the film "Monster". In 2005, she
played in screen version of cartoon serial MTV "Aeon Flux". She was
cast in one of the main roles in much-talked-of (Sensational) film
"North Country" and was nominated for Best Actress "Oscar" in 2006.
Interesting facts:
Theron has two tattoos on right leg: a fish near the ankle from the
other side and a flower on the foot.

This week Esquire Magazine named actress Charlize Theron the sexiest woman alive. The previous recipients of the title have been Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, and Jessica Biel. In the Oct. 16 magazine issue, Theron gives an interview where she tells about her childhood years on a farm dreaming to become an actress, her current interests, and her latest film "In The Valley Of Elah" - an Iraq war themed murder mystery. Previously, Charlize received several recognitions and awards, including the Oscar for the leading female role in the "Monster".
