This contest is fueled by the following news:
Etch a Sketch is coming to a cell phone near you. For doodlers and sketchers who cannot get enough done at home, the nearly 50 year old classic toy is being adapted for the mobile phone by a company called In-Fusio. It will be introduced in Britain on a wide number of different handsets by cellular carrier Orange. The cellular version will not be able to perfectly replicate the brick and mortar world version of the game, still made by Ohio Art Co. Users will have to settle for a key pad rather than the famous white knobs. But, there will be one advantage to the cellular version. For the first time, doodlers will be able to save their drawings -- up to three can be stored in the phone's memory. History of Cell Phones: * In 1947, research laboratory Bell Laboratories (belonging to company AT&T) proposed to develop a mobile phone; * In 1973, the first prototype of a portable cell phone, the Motorola DynaTAC was released. It is considered that, the first call on this phone was made on April 3, 1973, when its inventor, employee of Motorola Mr.Martin Cooper called the competitor Joel Engel, belonging to AT&T. The DynaTAC weighed about 1.15 kg and had a size of 22.5х12.5х3.75 cm. 12 keys were positioned on its front panel, out of which 10 were numbers and the remaining two keys for making a call and disconnecting. The DynaTAC did not possess a display and no additional functions. In standby mode, DynaTAC could work for eight hours and in talk mode, it could work only for one hour (35 minutes according to other information) and more than 10 hrs were required to completely charge the phone. Up to 1983, 5 prototypes of DynaTac were developed. * In 1981, NMT-450 (Nordic Mobile Telephone) with a working frequency of 450 MHz is considered as the uniform standard for Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Saudi Arabia; * In 1983, Bell Laboratories set a communication system on the basis of the AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone Service) standard into operation in America; * In 1984, the final model DynaTAC 8000X was out on sale. Consumers were so amazed with the possibility of keeping in touch always with the help of portable phone that thousands of persons registered in a queue to acquire DynaTAC 8000X: and all this in spite of the impressive initial price of the novelty — 3995 dollars.
