Celebrity Pets
Contest Directions: Summer time is vacation time, and many people wish they could take their pets on vacation. It's hard enough even when you have chihuahua, or a small cat, but bigger pets bring bigger problems.
Photoshop any celebrity or politicians carrying his/her pet in baby slings, or baby backpack (just like they would carry babies). While you are welcome to use cats and dogs as pets, try to choose more appropriate pets for each celebrity - think of who'll have an elephant for a pet, and who will have a gerbil, etc. Remember that pets need to be photoshopped in baby slings, or baby backpack, when celebrities and politicians carry them on their bodies. All animal pets are allowed (except humans).

  • Michael Moore with his Pet Elephant

Michael Moore with his Pet Elephant
        • LOL...
          Very nicely done...
IMO you should try bringing some of the grass and flowers in front of his knees and toes so that it looks like he is really kneeling down.

There also seems to be a triangular color change on the sleeve of the jacket.

None the less this is great…

          Good Luck
        • Is that an elephant on your back or are you just happy to see me? It could just be me, but does there need to be some cast shadows from the left ear, left tusk and upper trunk? or maybe I'm wrong? It's your happy little world, I'll let you decide!
        • Congratulations, Deb - truly a massive work in all senses. Love the 3-d position of the elephant and how his trunk gets in front
        • This was the best of the contest and one of the best chops I've seen here in a while. Thought it was an AZ production ... Figures it's a SassyDeb work of art. Kudos to a job well done.
        • WOW. Thanks everyone! Such inspiring comments. I'm glad you liked this chop. It sure was fun to make.
        • I like the "fun" you have with your images.
        • Congrats on the Gold Deb...
          Very well deserved

        • Very nice tone to this, he always reminds me of that bad dude out of Star Wars.
        • Congrats Rain. Sorta creepy but I like it.
        • Love the dark theme to it.
Congratulations on the bronze age, Rainman
        • i love the dark theme too ,, wonderful ambiance,, and texture!! congrats
        • Congrats on another stunning chop Rainman! I can tell he's CAT-holic.
  • Steve Irwin and his Pet Crocodile

Steve Irwin and his Pet Crocodile
        • Great Job, I would add some wet drops or spots on the T-Shirt to get the same feel as the face and hair..
        • Excellent Edit...
          It really makes a difference..
          Good Luck
        • May be the croc could use a little burn effect to blend it in a little better. Maybe in his belly and tail region nearest to steve to give it a little depth and to cause a slight shadowed area being cast from steve since he's in the way of the light source I think? Just a thought.
        • Bindi turned ten this week, I reckon she'd like this
        • Congrats on the woody Jerry. I really liked this chop. Keep up the great stuff!
        • Jerry got wood again! Bad Boy!

  • Steve Irwin Playing with Pet Snakes

Steve Irwin Playing with Pet Snakes
        • rules : "when celebrities and politicians carry them on their bodies." lol , I don't care it's a good chop. Gonna irritate some Steve-O fans though with the ray and all.
        • It is a great chop. A celebrity with babies.
  • Steven Colbert with his Pet Eagle

Steven Colbert with his Pet Eagle
  • Keri Russell with her Pet Koala

Keri Russell with her Pet Koala
        • I think it looks great. But I am a beginer also
        • Try adding some slight shadows behind the koala being to give the image some depth. Maybe also try running the blur tool slightly near the edge of where the koala's body meets the baby sling and maybe a little around the ears to soften the edges.
        • Increase the contrast on the Koala so the darkest shadows on the bear match the darkest shadows on the girl. Right now the bear is a little too light.

Just a minor detail on a nice entry!
        • LOL, good one!
          Welcome to the site illogic!
  • Mr Bean's Pet Monkey

    Jodie Foster's Pet Orangutan
  • Bronson Pinchot and his Pet Elephant

Bronson Pinchot and his Pet Elephant
  • Kate's Tired Pet Dog

    Kate's Tired Pet Dog
        • Good job, but I'd make the following changes:
          1) dog's mouth is perhaps a bit too dark - can;t see the teeth even.
          2) some shadows are needed from the hand and the dog
        • The teeth didnīt be visible in the original picture either. (Maybe very wrong sentence?)
I have problems with shadows, but I`m training.
        • Great job, but IMO the shadow above the shoulders and hair should be deleted. Also there are some masking issues with the fingers.

        • Try putting false teeth or a very big pacifier

[Edited by User on 7/23/2008 3:19:24 PM]
        • The shadows behind the lady was there at the original picture. And yes I should have taken it away.
        • I can see what the pup had for breakfast
  • Johnny Depp's Pet Baby Giraffe

    Johnny Depp's Pet Baby Giraffe
        • If you looky here there's a few things I picked up on, masking & a black spot.

Maybe when your done, flatten/duplicate layer/multiply & bring down the opacity to way low but it should make the image overall richer.

Hope this has helped, I like this idea it's too cute
        • Thanks kellie, I will get to work on it now.
        • I see you got the mask residue I did take the liberty here & added the multiply layer as I mentioned above, as you can see it would have bought it up a notch in richness, though you seem to have missed that black spot again.
        • Great edit. I'd also increase the contrast on Depp.

[Edited by User on 7/22/2008 7:41:01 PM]

This contest is fueled by the following news: Pets are those animals who live together with man and he provides them food and shelter. Pets are useful to humans either as a source of materialistic benefits and services, or as companions who bring charms and leisure. The majority of pets breed very easily. By selection, man can control the reproduction of pets and also the characters that get inherited to the next generation. General characteristics Some pets bring direct material benefits to the man, for example, either as a source of food (milk, meat), fabric (wool), or by carrying out work (transportation of goods, security). The second largest category is companion-animals who provide enjoyment, give pleasure and with whom one can communicate. For urban people, the concept of "pets" is often associated with the second category, i.e. "Domestic favorites". Animals of the same breed can act as one or the other category. For example, some people rear rabbits for meat and fur, and others rear rabbits in the house as a favorite. Pets can be reared in special premises (farmyard, stable, doghouse), but they can also live directly in the house of humans. Of those animals which live in the house, some are kept in cages, aquariums, terrariums and other "small houses", and others (for example, cats, dogs, rabbits and even monkeys) are allowed to move freely in the premises. Pets mainly eat commercially produced feeds from specially selected components. These feeds are not only easy to use but also provide the animal with all the necessary nutrients. For example mixed fodder for agricultural animals and food for cats or dogs. Many families, which rear any type of animals in the house, notice that these animals provide coziness, calmness and remove stress. Besides pets there can be undesirable tenants in the house called house animals. They live in the house or near to the house of man without invitation, without bringing any use and sometimes even harming the humans. These are rats, mice and cockroaches. House animals constitute a more extensive group of sinanthropus animals living near to the habitation of humans. Breeding in captivity Pets have evolved from wild animals living freely. Many wild animals can be tamed, especially at a young age, and even kept in houses. Sometimes it happens that the wild animals are easily tamed, but they rarely breed in the conditions of captivity. But if the tamed animals breed, their issues must again be tamed. Unlike wild animals, tamed or pets in captivity, as a rule, breed easily. In that case, when such breeding is required, fertility is considered of very good quality. It is not necessary to tame the issues of pets - characteristic traits, which make the animals a pet, are in the genes and are passed onto the next generations. This genetic pattern has developed in the process of selection done by people for centuries. The number of species of pets is very small compared with the total number of species found in the animal world. So, in the world there are more than two thousand species of mammals, and in the species of pets around 40. If from the list of pets some doubtful representatives are excluded, like useful insects (bee, cochineal insect, two-three types of silkworm) and two species of fishes (small gold fish and carp), the species of "actual" pets left are only 27.
