Contest Directions:

This Sunday is National Grandparents Day, and is rooted in the work of two committed pioneers: Jacob Reingold and Marian McQuade. They wanted a special day of recognition for the role of millions of older Americans who are grandparents, and who have wisdom, perspectives and key civic values to share with young people. Through their efforts, in 1978 the United States Congress passed legislation proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day, signed by President Jimmy Carter.
