| This contest is fueled by the following news: |
| | Katherine Harris, the Congresswoman from Florida who is running for a
U.S. Senate seat next year, has been another victim of celebrity fakes
published in the media. She has accused newspapers of fake pictures
to distort her makeup and to make fun of her. In an interview with a
conservative radio talk show host, Harris said that she does not
consider herself a celebrity, but some newspapers published fake
photos during the 2000 presidential election recount when she was the
Secretary of State for Florida. Democratic commentators and late
night talk show hosts made fun of Harris for her liberal use of
cosmetics when she took center stage during the vote recount. For
example, Jay Leno joshed that they had trucks brining ballots to
Tallahassee. In fact, he said, it was the same trucks they used to
bring makeup to Harris. Many celebrities have been the victim of such
fakes published in the media which look amazingly real
and ruin their image and even career. |
