| | Eight insurance companies have been sued by singer Britney Spears. She filed suit because they rejected a claim of $9.8 million she filed when she had to cancel a 2004 concert tour in the summertime because she injured her knee during a video shoot. The lawsuit is pending in Manhattans state Supreme Court and said that Britney Spears, and her company -- Britney Touring, Inc. -- paid the firms more than $1.3 million in premiums to ensure the concert tour. Court papers indicate that after the tour was forced to be canceled, none of the insurance companies made good on claims submitted.
