 Doctors in South Korea errouneously removed part of a stomach of a patient that was scheduled to have thyroid surgery and then removed the thyroid gland of another patient scheduled to have stomach surgery. The surgical confusion took place at the Konyanh University Hospital in the city of Taejon which is south of Seoul about 95 miles. Two women in their sixties were the patients involved in the mix-up, which took place on Devember 29. Hospital staff members realized that the mistakes occurred only after filing post-surgery paperwork.
