| Because of cost cutting measures at a theater in the German town of Stendal, Snow White only had four dwarves, rather than the usual seven. The Altmark Stendal theater said that its budget only permitted hiring six actors for its Christmas program, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. There were protests from some theater goers who wanted to see seven dwarves. The theater said that it did its best by attaching two puppets dressed like dwarves to a wall in the background, bringing the total to six. Additionally, the actor playing the role of the prince also was supposed to double as the seventh dwarf, but only made a very quick, brief appearance on the stage. |
